Single Trip Overseas Plans
If you’re travelling overseas for a single trip, we offer two plans Comprehensive Travel Insurance, and Basic Travel Insurance. The difference between these two plans is the level of cover.
Our Basic Travel Insurance plan1 covers only the basics, such as your overseas emergency assistance, overseas medical and hospital expenses, funeral expenses and personal liability.
Whereas our Comprehensive Travel Insurance plan1 covers you overseas if you unexpectedly fall ill or have an accident, and it also provides cover for cancellation3, luggage, rental vehicle excess, travel delay 1 and more.
Annual Multi- Trip Overseas Plan
Domestic Plan
If you’re travelling within New Zealand only, our Domestic Travel Insurance plan provides cover for cancellation, rental vehicle excess, luggage and travel delay 1.

- Policy terms, conditions, limits, sub-limits and exclusions apply to particular types of losses, premium refunds (full or partial) or claims. This product has a general exclusion, with limited exceptions, against epidemics and pandemics. That means we don’t cover claims that arise from, or are related to, an epidemic or pandemic.
However, you’re covered under selected benefits in this product if, during your period of cover, you’re positively diagnosed as suffering a sickness recognised as an epidemic or pandemic, such as COVID-19. Refer to the Policy Wording to see which benefits offer cover in the event you contract a sickness recognised as an epidemic or pandemic, and the terms, conditions, limits, sub-limits and exclusions that apply. - Terms, conditions, limits, sub-limits and exclusions apply, and these are set out in the Policy Wording. An overseas policyholder preference applies. Under Australian law, if The Hollard Insurance Company Pty Ltd is wound up, its assets in Australia must be applied to its Australian liabilities before they can be applied to overseas liabilities. To this extent, New Zealand policyholders may not be able to rely on The Hollard Insurance Company Pty Ltd’s Australian assets to satisfy New Zealand liabilities.
